Mrs. McGaffin has taught in MCPS since 1998. She graduated from Watkins Mill HS and then earned a BS in biology from Grove City College. She earned her M.Ed from Coppin State College in 2001 and her National Board Certification in 2003. She has taught middle and high school science classes. ​

Mrs. McGaffin is married to Mr. McGaffin (who also teaches science at DHS) and they have 2 amazing sons- Noah and Isaac. When she is not doing school work she is cheering on Isaac's baseball team, playing pickleball, planning activities at her church, or hanging out with her family.

​Mrs. McGaffin is the science resource teacher. She is also a cosponsor of Best Buddies at DHS. She also is a co-coach of Bocce and Allied Softball.
